When working with a new model, it’s important to make sure they are comfortable. David is not a stranger to being in front of the camera but for our first collaboration we tried to find a concept we both liked. The idea of sticking jewels all over his body was the concept we decided on. There were some technical issues with getting them to stay stuck and at one point we thought it was going to take hours to stick them on with poor David getting cold in a cavernous studio space in winter. Persist we did and the end result is a bit different to my normal dark and moody studio shoots with pale, soft colours and a bit of sparkle.
